Objective

The 8th International Conference on Queueing Theory and Network Applications (QTNA2013) will be held at Providence University in Taichung, Taiwan on July 30-Aug. 2, 2013. The conference is a continuation of the series of successful conferences - QTNA2006 (Seoul, Korea), QTNA2007 (Kobe, Japan), QTNA2008 (Taipei, Taiwan), QTNA2009 (Singapore), QTNA2010 (Beijing, China), QTNA2011 (Seoul, Korea), and QTNA2012 (Kyoto, Japan). QTNA2013 (Taichung, Taiwan) conference aims to promote the knowledge and the development of high-quality research on queueing theory and its applications in networks and other related fields. It brings together researchers, scientists and practitioners from the world and offers an open forum to share the latest important research accomplishments and challenging problems in the area of queueing theory and network applications. The conference will cover all the key topics in queueing theory, communication networks and other scientific areas.

Submissions are expected to focus on queueing theory and network applications or related scientific fields, and demonstrate a relationship between theory and its application. Any topic that satisfies these two requirements would be of interest.

Scope

Expected subjects are, but not limited to, the following and related topics:

Queueing Theory and Related Areas

  • Matrix analytic methods
  • Queueing analysis of scheduling policies
  • Tail asymptotic in queueing models
  • Large deviation theory

Submission Information

Papers must be submitted through the conference website http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=qtna2013. All accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings. Electronic version of the proceedings will be distributed to all participants at the conference. After the conference, those regular papers accepted for presentation are invited to submit their extended versions as the Post-Conference Publishing of QTNA2013 in the Journal of Industrial and Management Optimization (JIMO), An International Journal of Quality Technology and Quantitative Management (QTQM), and International Journal of Operations Research (IJOR). You are also welcome to organize special sessions, with 4-5 papers in each session, dedicated to a topic of your interest. Please email your proposal to qtna2013@gmail.com. It will be forwarded to the program chairs. An accepted paper will be included in the proceedings only if at least one of the authors registers by July 1, 2013.
